QPG Gallery Pelican will be mounting a group exhibition celebrating our African heritage. Feb. 6th -28th. Opening hours 9am -4.30pm Tuesday to Sat. Visualising China - Exhibition 20 February at 10am at Grande Salle
Visualising China is an exhibition of Barbadian and Chinese artefacts and images including: • Traditional Games• Musical Instruments • Pottery and Ceramics • Chinese New Year Decor
The exhibition opens runs February 20 - 21 from 10 AM to 5 PM daily. You are invited to walk through the exhibition during these hours with the option of guided tours at 11 AM and 3 PM on February 20.

Holders Season 2015 Programme:
Holders Season, the
Caribbean’s International Arts Festival, returns for its 22nd year on Saturday 7th March – Saturday 21st March. The Little Theatre in the scenic gardens of Holders Plantation House is the venue for a programme bursting with energy, featuring 9 shows of diverse music; jazz, classical, pop, world and folk, outrageous comedy, artful theatre and our wildly popular Dinner Shows on the classic Holders House Gallery.

Saturday 7th & Monday 9th March    Cabaret Dinner
Two nights of music, magic and variety in the intimate setting of the Holders gallery. Over a three course dinner on the atmospheric Holders Gallery, enjoy at close quarters the talents of three internationally acclaimed artists all of whom need to be seen to be believed…. Featuring Joe Stilgoe (piano), Michael Gee (magician) Desiree Kongerod (aerialist/acrobat).

Wednesday 11th March    The Music of Hollywood – Songs on Film
Award-winning pianist, singer, songwriter and film buff Joe Stilgoe pays tribute to 100 years of
Hollywood cinema and the film music that shaped his own musical life. Beginning with The Jungle Book and charting a course through the most memorable moments of music in film, Joe and his remarkable band will give you the perfect afternoon at the movies. With Joe’s famous improvisational skills this cinematic show will be unique each time. Joe is joined by the massively talented Ben Reynolds (drums) and Thomas Farmer (bass).

Thursday 12th March    Cajun Night with The Savoy Family
An evening of infectious traditional music from
Louisiana and with some great tastes to match! The Savoys are without any question the first family of Cajun music, but fame and fancy titles aren’t their thing. Despite having played on some of the biggest stages in the world, they know that Cajun’s true spirit is more likely to be found at the jam sessions back at their famous Savoy Music Center near Eunice, Louisiana.  The Savoys bring their musical joy to the Holders stage together with their spicy cuisine…

Roberto Fonseca
Holders is thrilled to welcome one of the giants of the international jazz scene, Cuban maestro Roberto Fonseca. Instrumental in the global renaissance of Cuban music,
Roberto is a world-renowned pianist famous for fusing Latin jazz, urban music, and African rhythms with the sounds of his heritage. Born in Havana in 1975, he first began playing the piano at age eight and since graduating with a Master’s degree in composition, he has taken the world by storm both with his solo and ensemble tours. 

Monday 16th March    Theatre Night – Black is the Color of my Voice
A play with music, inspired by the life of singer
Nina Simone. Written and performed by African American actor Apphia Campbell.

Tuesday 17th March      Classical Night - American Soul and the City     
A fantastically eclectic programme performed by two magnificent young artists, who capture the essence of the American Dream: freedom, hope, innovation and boundless possibilities. Pianist Christina McMaster and Violinist Lizzie Ball perform music from the Soulful South to City Sidewalks…with colourful splashes of
Latin America. Music by Philip Glass, Meredith Monk, Gershwin, Piazzolla, Debussy and more!

Saturday 21st March     GALA Night featuring
We welcome the return by popular demand of the
UK’s most sophisticated 3- piece singing group Blake, their stunning repertoire of classical and contemporary music are favourites with Holders audiences. Canadian singer songwriter Sarah Boulton makes her first appearance at Holders Season.

Rent local art at a fraction of the cost or ownership and help local artists gain exposure. Our selection contains only original Barbadian paintings in water colour, oil and acrylic, and the collection is diverse, with works of art purchased from the top local artists.
Artwork is always available for sale, and if you decide to purchase a piece at the end of your rental contract we will apply 75% of the total rental fees paid for that particular piece towards its purchase. This allows you to sample various pieces of art with no commitment, and then to purchase if you wish.
The typical rental fee is from BBD $60.00 to $120.00 per month plus VAT.
